Neil Patel, a highly effective and influential marketer according to Forbes, recently shared during this interview his views on the future of the digital world. Specifically, he saw the online digital phenomenon that we are experiencing as a consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic as inevitable and permanent. Patel puts forward the argument that the pandemic has merely accelerated the embracing and adoption of the digital world by 5 years.

With the fourth industrial revolution on the brink and a rapid surge in the disruption of financial systems for the better, the next wave of high-paying reputable jobs appears to be in the world of tech.
As the pandemic shut down markets and stores, many people have been nudged to order everything from essentials to luxury goods online (part thanks to falling internet costs). The result? A 3% increase in global e-commerce retail trade in 2020 alone (compared to the previous year) despite the severe uncertainty plaguing many economies across the globe! These numbers are projected to increase by up to 50% between 2020 and 2024!
As a consequence of the epidemic, many small businesses were forced to set up their online store, market digitally, and adapt their existing business to the changing times. For those businesses that would not or could not pivot their business to the “New Normal” of conducting business online, many were forced to close their doors (both temporarily and permanently).
When we look for the core tech skills that will be necessary to succeed in the E-Commerce sector we see:
